When Ian Botham was like David Brent

This interview with England cricketer Ian Botham comes from 1986 and is both hillarious and cringeworthy.

Botham is being interviewed on children's television by an audience of Scottish kids who are asking serious and impressive questions rather than the "who was your hardest opponent" dirge you usually get in situations like this.

Botham's responses, manerisism and patronising tone comes across like a proto-David Brent and even if you excuse much of the casual sexism as a pruduct of the age, it's still one of the most jaw-droppingly cringeworthy sports interviews we've seen.
