Adidas is giving urban runners in Dubai a boost with its new Boost HD technology. This can be found in its Pulseboost HD footwear, optimised for running in the city, with added stability and comfort.
Sitting low to the ground, the Pulseboost HD is designed to handle a sudden stop or quick change in direction on a busy city street with ease. The shoe also includes the Continental Adaptive Traxion, a new Continental Rubber outsole developed by artificial intelligence, for added grip in dry or wet conditions. Finally, Adapt Knit is a new flexible upper that stretches as needed.
Adidas consulted key urban runners around the world – in New York, Paris and Berlin – to help design the shoes, realising that those using the city as their playground are more likely to be on their forefoot than midfoot and shaping the shoe accordingly. The Pulseboost HD features the GPS coordinates of these cities as a nod to the experts who helped.
Dubai’s own top fitness gurus have been asked by Adidas to give their take on the brand’s latest creation, with Adidas Runners Dubai captain and five-time world record holder Lee Ryan and Emirati fitness and social media star Walid Yari among those photographed testing the shoe. Hopefully they both found the QR code on the tongue, which when scanned by a smartphone unlocks an exclusive Spotify playlist, tailored to the city you’re running in.
