Expanding the Alphaedge 4D line
The Alphaedge 4D technology from Adidas was already impressive enough – sneakers with a midsole created using 3D printing technology. In the near-future, it might be possible to input your physical attributes, give details of your preferred sport, and have your own personalised shoe created at the push of a button.
We’re not quite there yet, but Adidas has just released its Alphaedge 4D running shoe in a shiny reflective colourway, designed with a form and fit like no other.
Alphaedge 4D made its debut in 2017. The 3D printing technology comes from Carbon, a company based in Silicon Valley, and turns programmable liquid resins into a complex geometric structure. Adidas has already introduced Alphaedge 4D to its running, Stella McCartney, Originals and Statement categories.
In time, Adidas predicts that the shoes could be precisely tuned to the movement patterns, weight and gait of the user, and optimised for particular sports – but until then, you can try its new reflective running shoe variant in either black or white, perfect for training in low light.
The shoes are available now. Find them on the Adidas website, app and in selected UAE retailers, priced AED1,399.
