Chanel has named A$AP Rocky as its newest brand ambassador, coinciding with the house’s return to New York for the Métiers d’Art 2025/26 show – the first under artistic director Matthieu Blazy. The venue was a decommissioned Bowery subway station, where the city’s grit intersected with the meticulous craftsmanship of Chanel’s ateliers.
Blazy, in Chanel’s official statement, praised Rocky for his creativity and perspective, calling him “an incredible artist and an incredible human being.”

The show transformed the subway platform into a runway. Models moved through tiled corridors and steel pillars wearing tweeds, sculptural coats, and pieces that drew inspiration from city life itself. Rocky’s presence in the front row highlighted the connection between Chanel’s artisanal heritage and contemporary street culture, emphasising the house’s relevance beyond traditional haute couture.
Though Chanel does not currently offer a formal menswear line, Rocky’s ambassadorship, along with Blazy’s more fluid design direction, hints at an evolving conversation about gender, style, and identity.
Last night’s show was Chanel is engaging with the present – blending heritage, urban energy, and cultural relevance – and Rocky is at the center, embodying a new vision of style that bridges artistry, street sensibility, and modern masculinity.
