FC Barcelona has announced a five-year partnership with Los Angeles luxury fashion house AMIRI, appointing the label as the club’s official formalwear partner through to the 2029/30 season – a move that further blurs the line between elite sport and contemporary style.
Under the agreement, AMIRI will design bespoke formalwear for the men’s and women’s first teams, as well as for the club’s executives and board members. The collection will be worn on official occasions – from European travel to finals and high-profile ceremonies – showcasing a modern expression of the club’s blaugrana identity beyond the pitch.
Announcing the partnership, FC Barcelona’s managing director Manel del Río said the collaboration represents “a connection between two institutions that share the same ambitions: excellence, creativity and attention to detail.”
“At FC Barcelona, we believe elegance is part of how we represent the club, both on and off the pitch,” he added. “AMIRI brings a contemporary vision of craftsmanship and style that aligns perfectly with our identity and the values that define us as an institution. Together, we project a global image of innovation and sophistication, values we deeply identify with.”
The initial collection blends tailored silhouettes with subtle nods to the club’s heritage. Deep navy overcoats, double-breasted jackets and pinstripe trousers are complemented by lightweight summer pieces and refined accessories, including blaugrana-striped ties and gold tie bars – a wardrobe that balances tradition and innovation.
“A Shared Spirit”
For AMIRI, founded in 2014 and best known for its fusion of Californian ease and couture precision, the partnership marks a decisive move into the world of international sport.
“Soccer and fashion share a spirit, born from passion, precision, and creativity,” said Mike Amiri, the brand’s founder and creative director. “Each is about mastering your craft and expressing who you are through movement and form. Partnering with FC Barcelona lets AMIRI reflect that same pursuit of excellence through our tailoring. This collaboration with Barça is a celebration of shared values.”
Barcelona’s alliance with AMIRI reflects a wider trend in European football, where clubs are increasingly aligning with luxury brands to shape their off-pitch identities. Such partnerships – once confined to sportswear sponsorships – now extend to formalwear, travel attire and lifestyle collaborations, as clubs embrace fashion’s global influence.
For FC Barcelona, the deal reinforces its ambition to position itself not just as a sporting institution but as a cultural one. For AMIRI, it represents both a creative challenge and a symbolic gesture: dressing one of football’s most recognisable teams as they redefine what it means to look like champions.
As luxury and sport continue to share the same stage, the partnership suggests that, at least in Barcelona, style and substance are now cut from the same cloth.
