In a city where skyscrapers define the skyline, Dubai is now turning one of its most iconic towers into a symbol of collective effort and community spirit. On 22 November, ICD Brookfield Place in DIFC will open its 54 floors to the public for the first time for “Climb for a Cause,” a fitness challenge that blends urban endurance with philanthropy.
The event, part of the annual Dubai Fitness Challenge (30×30), invites participants to take on either 30 floors or the full summit climb, with every step contributing to a larger cause. All ticket sales and donations will go directly to the Al Jalila Foundation, supporting medical research, education, and treatment programmes across the UAE.
The initiative transforms ICD Brookfield Place – designed by Foster + Partners and celebrated for its LEED® Platinum certification – into a rare meeting point of architecture, wellness, and altruism. “It’s not just about fitness,” the organisers say, “it’s about building a community that cares.”
The tower’s Summer Garden and outdoor plaza will host a Runners’ Village, uniting tenants, partners, and residents. Wellness brands including Reform Athletica, 1Rebel, Embody Fitness, and Valeo Health will provide everything from warm-up sessions to recovery therapies, IV drips, and nutrition support. Even the refreshments have a purpose – partner F&B outlets will serve health-conscious snacks and smoothies to keep climbers fuelled.
For ICD Brookfield Place, which has long positioned itself as more than a workplace, the event reinforces its identity as a “vertical community” built on culture, collaboration, and wellbeing. Climb for a Cause offers a rare opportunity to slow down – by quite literally stepping up.
Registration is now open via Hopasports. Participants can sign up individually or as teams, with all proceeds benefiting the Al Jalila Foundation.
As the city gears up for another Dubai Fitness Challenge, this event stands out not just for its altitude, but for its attitude – a reminder that when it comes to giving back, every step counts.
