Milan Fashion Week AW26 unveiled Loro Piana’s AW26 collection, titled Nomadic Reverie, and it reads like a travelogue rendered in cloth – garments shaped by landscapes glimpsed through a train window. You can immediately picture the man it belongs to. He boards without fuss but not without presence. His notebook is worn, corners softened, pages filled with observations that may or may not become something brilliant. His pen, however, is immaculate – weighty, luxe, and a bit intimidating. He is headed somewhere new, but carries himself like he already has a favourite café there..
Materiality, as ever with Loro Piana, is the real protagonist. Cashmere, Baby Cashmere, Pecora Nera®, Merino, and finely wrought tweeds anchor the collection in tactile luxury. The palette: ochres and terracottas for departure and warmth, beiges and greys for continuity, deep greens and anthracite for depth, midnight blue and black adding a sharper edge.
The tailoring understands proportion the way a seasoned traveller understands timing. Jackets and coats – single or double-breasted, peak-lapelled or shawl-collared – fall naturally, never fighting the body. Two-piece suits maintain their shape without feeling ceremonial. The Roadster coat, the Rovasenda jacket, the Maremma bomber: house signatures revisited with subtle recalibration for modern life. Eveningwear follows the same logic. Tuxedos are relaxed, rollnecks replace shirts, satin is applied sparingly.
Accessories add some wit with wide-brimmed and exotically referenced hats that really do add character rather than costume.
