Unveiled at Milan Fashion Week
Since Daniel Lee became the creative director of Bottega Veneta in June 2018, the Italian luxury brand has adopted a wider appeal. Pared-down, slick and moody, the story continued at Milan Fashion Week recently, with a chance to unveil the new spring collection. “Spring 2020 evolves the codes we are building at Bottega Veneta,” says Lee. “Our focus is on process and clarity; immediate and direct.”
This collection plays with proportion, and soft structure cutting through tension and technique with a clean new ease. The balance of colour is calm, bold, rich and defined in black, chocolate brown, gold, tapioca, orange and tones of blue. Jewellery disrupts the silhouette, weaving through tactile surfaces. Classicism contrasts modernism with refined techniques: knot, weave and knit.
Highlights include leather pieces, from anoraks to all-in-ones to trenches, with leather basketball shorts, and knitwear with skin-bearing details. “Bottega Veneta is about the individual, it’s for you.” Lee concludes.
Bottega Veneta can be found in Bloomingdale’s at Dubai Mall, and Harvey Nichols at Mall of the Emirates.
