Car Subscription App Carasti Launches In UAE

An alternative to buying or renting

Owning, renting or leasing a car can be a hassle – and in this on-demand world of using apps to order a taxi or get food delivered, shouldn’t there be a more convenient solution? Claudio Esposito-Aiardo, an ex-Google employee, thinks so, and has just launched his subscription-based start-up, Carasti, in the UAE.

The basic idea is to download the app, set up a profile and payment details, then subscribe to a car from Carasti’s fleet, with full of use of it for one month or longer for an all-inclusive fee. Gone are the complexities of long-term commitments, down payments and paperwork. If you don’t like your car after one month, just swap it for a different one.

As Eposito-Aiardo explains, “One monthly fee covers your car, insurance, maintenance and roadside assistance. Select the car you want, upload your documents, choose the delivery time-slot and location, and you’re done.

“Flexibility is a big thing for us at Carasti. Our subscribers can easily switch their cars every month, with the whole process managed directly in-app in just a matter of minutes. For example, you may only need a small car like a Nissan Kicks for everyday use, but you might want something bigger, like an Infiniti QX50, if you have people visiting.”

There are a number of cars available to Carasti subscribers already, such as the Kia Picanto for AED1,400 per month, or a Toyota Prado for AED4,000 per month. The app also has a ‘Commit & Save’ feature, where you can subscribe to the same car for six-12 months, accessing discounted rates.

Carasti will deliver your car to you anywhere in the UAE. The app is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
