Includes a print featuring images of the designer himself
Christian Louboutin’s shoes have always been recognisable for their red soles – but just for the avoidance of doubt, the designer is not taking any chances with his fall-winter 2019 collection, and you can now spot his work thanks to the images of himself he has used for a new print. A collage of Polaroid photos, taken throughout Louboutin’s life, and other personal effects, including sketches, favourite shoes, greatest hits and so on, has been used on various footwear designs.
Other highlights include the technical sneaker additions for the Run Loubi Run line. Also look for a retro 1960s floral pattern and a design reminiscent of peacock feathers.
There are some rugged Alpine-inspired boots too, with exaggerated shearling tongues, and studded details around the cuff and sole. For something more casual, look to the new elevated crepe sole loafers and lace-ups.
The Cuban boots have more of a heel to them, now with a round toe, available in a graphic black with a white geometric stripe. Velvet dress slippers include such motifs as tiger stripes, painted in glitter, with leopard spots applied through meticulous bead work.
It’s a varied and complex range. Also look for luxe materials such as suede and a silk camouflage design, with studded high-tops another standout.
Christina Louboutin men’s stores can be found in Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates.
