Everyday items made from humble fabrics
Hot on the heels of its British Seaside collection, Hackett London has launched British Khaki – described as an honest wardrobe of everyday items with a touch of elegance. A fine example is the supple denim shirts in varying shades of blue, from rich indigo to washed out, that look great on their own or as part of a layered look alongside a T-shirt and jacket.
The tailoring is soft and relaxed. A hero Hackett item, the British Khaki blazer is woven in the UK by the Marley & Evans mill, and looks particularly striking when paired with white cotton denim trousers and a shirt and tie. Also look to the unstructured blazer, made from 97 per cent cotton for ultimate breathability, woven in Italy, with elastane giving it a stretchable quality.
There is also the safari jacket, made from a cotton and linen mix, unstructured, featuring a smart notch lapel and four patch pockets. In terms of footwear, try the deck shoes, available in madras check with brown leather detailing and laces, as well as the refined trainer in brown suede with beige panelling for a chic athletic style.
