French house Hermès launched in Dubai a pop-up and temporary record store with a twist.
For six days in Dubai’s International Financial Centre, better known as DIFC, music and high fashion lovers will get to enjoy a combination of both worlds. Set up as a vinyl record store, the installation displays men’s silk scarf that inspired the artwork illustrated on vinyl record sleeves and tie designs that are used on the cassette tape covers.
The shop is a product of a passion for music that Hermès’s men’s universe creative director, Véronique Nichanian, shares with Hermès’s creative director of men’s silk, Christophe Goineau. The pair are joined by one of the founding members of Paris’s Radio Nova, Thierry Planelle, who also composed the soundtracks for all of the men’s ready-to-wear runway shows at Hermès for the last fifteen years.
Hermès Silk Mix is on a world tour and made its stop at Dubai until the 16th of March, 2019. You can pass by Gate Village 8, GV03 in Dubai’s DIFC between 12 pm and 8 pm to check it out. Previous cities included Madrid, Mumbai, New York, and Seoul.
