Presenting the McLaren Vision Collection of sunglasses and frames

McLaren’s luxury sports cars are known for being well built, great to look at, lightweight and highly advanced – all qualities you might like to see in a pair of sunglasses. Luckily, the manufacturer is about to release its McLaren Vision Collection, which comprises three lines: Core, Premium and Bespoke. Prices will range from AED1,182 up to AED7,344. The Bespoke series even uses face-scanning and 3D-printed titanium frames for a perfect, tailored fit. Also on display is a unique ‘floating’ design, where the lens is hung within the frame at two contact points only, maximising vision and comfort.

The frame designers have worked closely with the French optical specialists L’Amy Group, with the eyewear available in a range of finishes and colours, including traditional McLaren hues. These will also be the first sunglasses to use Leica Eyecare sun lenses, treated with an AquaDura Vision anti-reflective, hydrophobic and oleophobic coating. Each of the five sun lens types has been optimised for a specific environment – driving, skiing, sailing, city life or golf.

Core is the basic range, titanium in construction, with four frame shapes, including rimmed and rimless designs, and your choice of arm colour. The Premium collection has 3D-printed titanium and overmoulded titanium arms, with three different shapes, all designed for increased comfort. Bespoke is the ultimate line, tailored to the wearer’s face using 3D printing technology. All of the frames can house prescription lenses or become sunglasses with any of the five Leica eyecare lenses.
