Italian Restaurant GIA Launches Emirati Fusion Menu

Located in Fashion Avenue, Dubai Mall, the Italian restaurant GIA has come up with a UAE first – a fusion Italian-Emirati menu. This will be available for a limited time until February 12, featuring unique flavours, combining classic Italian fare with nostalgic Emirati dishes.

Samosa Burrata

The menu is the work of GIA’s expert culinary team and Emirati chef Faisal Mohammed Al Harmoodi. An Emirati, with roots in Abu Dhabi, Chef Al Harmoodi has always been passionate about his cultural heritage, and this was an opportunity to help it reach new audiences.

Rigatoni Biryani

Dishes include the Samosa Burrata, a crunchy samosa with burrata, arrabiata sauce and tomato and pesto mint chutney. Then there is the Salona Risotto, served with Salona mushroom risotto, slow-cooked lamb shank and an Emirati favourite, daqoos – a spicy tomato and garlic sauce.

Camel Lasagna

Look for Rigatoni Biryani too – served with rigatoni, grilled chicken breast, biryani sauce, green maabouj, daqoos, rgag and pesto and mint chutney. Camel Lasagna is also one to try, featuring puffed lasagne layers filled with camel bolognese, parmesan cheese and olive oil powder.

For dessert, try Asida Cannoli, a homemade Italian pastry filled with the Arabic asida, saffron mascarpone sauce and topped with pistachio. Or opt for the Secret Box, with selected Italian and Emirati sweets.
