A non-denim platform
For spring-summer 2020, Levi’s has launched a new non-denim platform for men, the Levi’s XX Chino, with a little help from US singer-songwriter Khalid. Since his debut single, ‘Location’, in 2016, Khalid has had several top 10 hits, a No 1 album and six Grammy nominations.
And here he is, modelling the XX Chino – available in Standard Taper, Slim Taper and Straight Cropped styles. The look is said to be youthful, with a contemporary fit, plus stretch for added comfort. There are two fabrics used, Soft Stretch and Wonderknit, to vary the amount of stretch.
Look to a range of colours that go well beyond the standard khaki too. There are multiple shades to choose from, and each is garment dyed, allowing for a look and feel that isn’t too crisp or precious, especially after a couple of washes. It’s a perfectly worn-in pair of chinos from the start.
For something fashion-forward, look to the Straight Cropped XX Chino, with a centre front crease for some street-style swagger. The choice of celebrities like Khalid.
Janine Chilton-Faust, global VP of men’s design at Levi’s, said, “The authentic, cool vibe of our new chino range was inspired part by who we are as an iconic brand, and part by being at the centre of cultural moments, from streetwear to skate. They deliver on fit, comfort and style, especially when worn with your favourite sneaker.”
