Loro Piana, the Italian house specialised in luxury wool and cashmere clothing and products, is celebrating its entry into the Middle East with an outstanding installation at the sky garden of the Dubai Opera.

Starting Thursday the 8th of November 2018 and until Sunday the 10th, this multi-sensorial installation will invite visitors to discover the secrets of the world’s finest merino wool, one of Loro Piana’s most exclusive treasures: The Gift of Kings®.

With its installation, Loro Piana is celebrating local culture by collaborating with internationally acclaimed artist eL Saeed. His work mingles traditional Arabic calligraphy with contemporary street art. The art piece on display is inspired by an ancient poem written by King Alfonso X, the enlightened, cosmopolitan ruler of thirteenth-century Spain who played a pivotal role in the history of merino wool: The Gift of Kings®.

This event is made in partnership with Tashkeel, an art facility that seeks to provide a nurturing environment for the growth of contemporary art and design in the United Arab Emirates.

Tashkeel was established in 2008 by Her Excellency Sheikha Lateefa bint Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also offering patronage to the event.

The high-end brand’s store, which will be located in The Dubai Mall, will continue the work of six generations of experience in the textile industry, bringing the region the finest materials straight from Italy. Current products are created by marrying craft and sartorial tradition with modern technology.
