The label launched two years ago
Mr P has been quite the success story for Mr Porter. The website sells a wide number of men’s clothing brands, but until two years ago had never attempted to make its own. Offering around 50 everyday essentials, with trend-led season capsules released five times a year, Mr P is now one of Mr Porter’s fastest-growing labels.
Now, on the two-year anniversary of its debut, the 11th capsule collection from Mr P is here. Designed to form the building blocks of a modern man’s wardrobe, the November collection comprises 39 cold-weather ready-to-wear and footwear pieces, with considered outerwear, new colourways and styles of signature knitwear.
Standout pieces in the capsule include a black oversized double-breasted shearling coat; a black and red merino wool sweater with a geometric motif; the Jacques boots in a monochromatic waxed suede; and the Jacques loafers in classic black fringed leather. Each footwear item has a rubber sole for sure footing in cold weather.
For the first time ever, Mr P will expand into eveningwear later in the month, with the introduction of a slim-fit shawl collar tuxedo made from fine Italian wool. The grosgrain-striped trousers feature a hidden ‘phone pocket’ detail, ensuring a sleek black-tie look. The tuxedo can be worn over a new shirt with bib contrast, or try a slightly unexpected pairing with the capsule’s ecru slim-fit merino wool rollneck sweater.
