Poltrona Frau and Ferrari’s Cockpit chair

A product of long-time Ferrari partner, Poltrona Frau, the Cockpit chair will bring a piece of your Ferrari to the office

In celebration of Italian carmaker Ferrari’s 70th anniversary, Ferrari joined forces with design giant Poltrona Frau to create a hybrid piece of design

that excites a car enthusiast even when away from the steering wheel. The Cockpit office chair was conceived and designed by the same team that brought the world Ferrari models such as the LaFerrari Aperta, GTC4Lusso, and the 812 Superfast, under the leadership of Italian architect and automobile designer Flavio Manzoni. Poltrona Frau, based in the Italian town Tolentino, has been a long-time partner of Ferrari, upholstering the interiors of the supercars. The company brings more than 100 years of technical innovation, racing ergonomics and high craftsmanship to the manufacturing of this chair. It was launched in Dubai at an event hosted by the Poltrona Frau Group earlier this year, which featured a performance by Italian group Mark Zitti e I Fratelli Coltelli. The event was attended by supercar enthusiasts, Ferrari owners, and MOJEH Men.

“We are very excited to witness the very special launch of the Cockpit chair,” said Poltrona Frau CEO, Samer Al Isis, during the launch event. “We truly believe this chair is going to be a groundbreaking design piece in the luxury interior and furnishing world. I feel honoured to be a part of such a dynamic country, that brings us great drive and passion,” he added. “To be in the UAE at this time complements us as a brand, as we are both fast-moving and ambitious, with strong goals for the near future.”

All elements of the chair are inspired by, and are true to, Ferrari’s DNA. The materials used in making the Cockpit chair are the same ones used in Ferrari cars, ranging from the leathers, the height and backrest adjusters (the same paddles used for gear shifters in Ferrari cars) to the swivel device that shares the same design and mechanical elements as the steering wheel.

The seat upholstery has been chosen by the Ferrari Design Centre team who picked the shades and finishes of the three tailor-made service lines. The lines, Scuderia, Classica, and Indeita afford Ferrari owners the possibility of creating their own configuration. The Cockpit’s colours can also be customised. The Cockpit is available at the Poltrona Frau Group ME showroom in Jumeirah, Dubai.
