Expresses a confident, courageous soul
What’s in a name? For Salvatore Ferragamo’s latest fragrance, called simply Ferragamo, the idea is to establish a statement blend, and the ultimate expression of masculinity.
To front its dedicated media campaign, the brand has chosen English actor and model Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, better known for his role in After, released last year, and for playing a young Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince – his uncle, Ralph Fiennes, was the adult version. He has also modelled for a number of top brands, including Dolce & Gabbana.
Fiennes-Tiffin asks us over and over in the promotional video, “Who do you want to be?” He is rehearsing the line for an upcoming stage performance. If you choose the Ferragamo fragrance, then presumably you want to be “a free-thinker with a restless spirit,” who “leaves a lasting impact wherever he goes.”
Created by perfumer Antoine Maisondieu, this fougère citrus woody scent features fresh and boisé notes to celebrate Ferragamo’s Italian roots, with bergamot and lemon for a touch of Mediterranean citrus. Floral and metallic violet accords blend with leather top notes, with hints of musk and vetiver.
Ferragamo is housed in a refined glass bottle, with its slender shape reminiscent of an urban skyscraper, and the name stamped along a vertical navy band. A signature Gancini buckle in silver metal is shaped into the base.
