An exhibition at Sotheby’s Dubai
Renowned artists from Europe, Asia and the Middle East will be on show at Sotheby’s Dubai this week for an exhibition called Show & Tell. There are 21 pieces on display, including works by Andy Warhol and Banksy.
The exhibition runs from February 9-13 and is free to enter, with the display open to the public from 10am-7pm daily. Afterwards, the pieces will be flown to London, where they will be auctioned.
Among the artworks are pop artist Robert Indiana’s instantly recognisable ‘Love’ sculpture, with its gold face and blue sides. This is expected to fetch AED860,500-1.9 million.
A whimsical piece on paper, ‘Dancing Man’ by Andy Warhol, can also be seen. Expectations for this range from AED47,480-95,000.
There’s a take on military helicopters by street artist Banksy, called ‘Happy Choppers’. This could sell for AED475,000-712,000. Ayman Baalbaki’s signature freedom fighter piece, meanwhile, is predicted to sell from AED237,000-332,000.
Catch the exhibition at Sotheby’s Dubai, located at Level 1, Gate Village Building 3, DIFC. The artworks will be on display every day this week.
