Louis Vuitton’s men’s artistic director, Kim Jones has announced he will be leaving his current role after the brand’s autumn/winter18 show later this month.
Ever since accepting the role in 2011, Jones accelerated the maison’s streetwear sensibilities, and led by his predecessor Marc Jacobs’s example, by placing emphasis on separates like track suits and slogan tees.
Having been the driving force behind some of Louis Vuitton’s most successful and memorable projects and collaborations, there’s little doubt he’ll be missed. “It has been a huge privilege to work with Kim,” said Michael Burke, chariman and CEO of Louis Vuitton.
“His ability to set trends is impeccable and his talent and determination have ensured that Louis Vuitton is firmly placed as the leading brand in luxury menswear today. All of us who have been fortunate to work with Kim wish him continued success in his next venture.”
