Paul Smith can always be relied upon to come up with something thematically interesting each season and the brand has always nailed the classic-with-a-twist ethos. This year, we have monkeys.
Reportedly taking inspiration from the drawings and collections of the British Victorian-era naturalists - who carefully documented their findings in drawings and taxidermy collections - the new Paul Smith monkey print is the key motif from the pre-AW17 collection.
Appearing in men’s and women’s pre-collections, the new monkey print appears across clothing and accessories including all-over patterns on shirts, backpacks and small leather goods including wallets and cardholders. The monkey also features as a solo motif embroidered onto sweatshirts and outerwear, plus as a graphic on silk pocket squares.
