Exclusive watches, raising money for a cause
Every two years, a very special auction takes place, commanding the attention of watch enthusiasts everywhere. Known as the Only Watch event, it involves a series of unique timepieces from 50 of the world’s top watchmakers, sold to raise money for charity. This year’s edition will be held on Saturday, November 9 at the Four Seasons Hôtel des Bergues in Geneva, organised by Christie’s.
Proceeds will be donated to the Monegasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy, supporting scientific and medical research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a devastating myopathy affecting one in 3,000 male births. The auction is an opportunity to buy a one-off watch from a leading brand, and to finance a great cause.
Since the end of September, the watches set to be auctioned have been touring the world, and displayed for a limited time in Christie’s showrooms. In early October, they even made a brief stop in Dubai.
