Taking place in February, with celebrity guests
Dubai’s biggest literary event, the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, is all set for February 4-9, 2020. The venue is the InterContinental Dubai Festival City, with tickets now on sale.
You’ll want to get your tickets early, as there are big celebrity names, award-winning novelists and world-leading experts, hosting panels on a wide range of topics.
Expect to see TV presenter and best-selling author Nadiya Hussain; Killing Eve creator Luke Jennings; historian Bettany Hughes; explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes; space scientist Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock; and UAE astronaut Hazzaa Al Mansouri.
Award-winning and best-selling authors include Tayari Jones, Jokha Alharthi, Hoda Barakat, Omaima Alkhamis, Esi Edugayan Mohammed Hanif, Linwood Barclay, Graeme Simsion, Santa Montefiori, Mitch Albom and Omar Saif Ghobash. Genres covered include literary, popular and crime fiction, business, history, spirituality, poetry, science, food, adventure and exploration.
There is also a vibrant and interactive programme to keep children of all ages enthralled, a murder mystery dinner, the atmospheric Desert Stanzas cultural event, and a stunning charity gala finale in collaboration with Dubai Cares, supporting its programme to help child refugees.
The Festival is supported by Emirates Airline and the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, and held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
