Lobster, beef and pastry at the Atlantis, The Palm hotel
Never one to shy away from a special occasion, Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen & Bar at the Atlantis, The Palm hotel in Dubai will be making the most of Wellington Week this month – a culinary celebration of the British wellington dish, most notably beef wellington, consisting of a fillet steak and filling, wrapped in puff pastry, said to have been originally named after the Duke of Wellington.
It’s amazing that Wellington Week even exists, that you can celebrate it in Dubai, and that Gordon Ramsay should be turning a week into a month – as his special Surf and Turf Wellington, created in honour of the event, will be available until June 30. You can also try the Dark Chocolate Wellington dessert and a special hand-crafted beverage at the same time.
The Surf and Turf Wellington combines lobster and beef in pastry, served with truffle mash potato, samphire and roasted carrots, topped off with lobster red wine jus, priced at AED275 per person or AED520 to share. For the perfect accompaniment, The Duke is the name of a cocktail created by the Bread Street Kitchen’s team of mixologists, priced at AED65. To finish, the Dark Chocolate Wellington, also AED65, is served with fruit coulis and vanilla ice cream.
