Released in the Middle East on December 19
Rey! Kylon Ren! Lightsabers! Lando Calrissian! There’s a lot to digest in the new (and final) trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, set for release in cinemas across the Middle East on December 19.
The footage all moves pretty quickly, so trying to guess the actual plot is near-impossible. It does confirm a few things we already knew – that Carrie Fisher will return as Princess Leia via previously unused footage; Billy Dee Williams is a returning cast member from the original trilogy, reprising his role as Lando Calrissian; Luke Skywalker has some sort of presence (a Force ghost?); and the Emperor is also back, as confirmed by his voiceover and the clips showing the remains of the second Death Star, where he is originally thought to have perished.
Directed by JJ Abrams, who also handled The Force Awakens, this is meant to wrap up the core nine-movie story arc of the Skywalker family, but leaves the door open for more spin-offs, prequels and TV shows.
